The word competition and its derivatives are often spurned by Heart Centered Business owners.
It is all about collaboration instead.
I disagree…of course.
I don’t disagree with collaboration however I disagree with it when it is based on imbalance. Where there is no shared given value. This usually happens in women’s business communities by women to women, I know we will collaborate so I don’t have to pay you your worth.
I always find it interesting that women think men stole equality from them however what are women doing to each other when they are unwilling to pay for value or recognise their own value…? Can’t keep blaming the men folk – but that is another story for another time perhaps.
The energy of the word competition
The word competition is neutral however the understanding and weight of energy has been placed on the shadow which errs on the side of opposition.
A competitor is seen as opposite you. A threat. Someone who can beat you so you must see them as unfriendly and someone to be a step ahead of at all costs.
I can see why feminine illusionary theory says that is masculine – it doesn’t fit with the mass consciousness challenge women face of putting themselves first, when it comes to competition for self-love, everyone else wins….so yes I can see the reason why competition is seen as masculine however it is just the shadow.
Why focus on the shadow of competition…?
In business if you truly believe in abundance. In fact if you believe and truly understand it too, you will know there can be no competition. There is no short supply. There is no scarcity. It doesn’t matter if you see 100 people a second joining your niche, they aren’t taking from you.
Of course you may not be getting the business or clients that you believe you deserve and that has nothing to do with competition and everything to do with you, your relationship with business and your inner world energy.
The issue lies in the fact most people don’t really believe in abundance. They got a library full of examples of why it isn’t always the case and even if it isn’t directly about their own lives it is about ‘them’ over there.
The truth is the universe is abundant and that is how life has the potential to be if you stopped telling yourself it isn’t possible.
Competition is an energy that can drive you to be the best you are. Like running a race you think, actually I can give it some more. Unlike a race there is nothing to win against other people, just for you and your soul to gain and the more you live your potential the more you are resolving karma and getting on with your own transformation.
Make competition about you not about competing – make it about being the best you can not chasing a need to be better than others.
Yet why do so many who claim to dislike competition and call it old paradigm practice the shadow art of competition….?
• Talking about others behind their back to clients to make the ‘other’ look bad, mad and incompetent?
• Collaborate with people as a one-way street – they give and the one who pretends they are not into competition takes, takes and takes some more! You know the type, can you share what I am doing and when you ask they are missing or unable to …. They pretend they are busy or it doesn’t feel right – of course it won’t they see you as competition!
• Advise you against things that they do…I have seen people being advised not to market as it isn’t heart centered, (really?) by someone who markets successfully…what is that about if it isn’t competition energy at play?
• Advise you to do not do things (or do things) telling you they aren’t for you when secretly they want to do them (or want to see you fail) ….acceptably you can say the people who do this are rubbish advisors however it is competitiveness in shadow that directs this behaviour
• Coaches who claim your success and write about you and what you did and how proud they are and when you are struggling they say it is your fault. They want to be better than you even if it is a different niche, make the world believe your success is in part them, another shadow of competition.
• Copying others and claiming the work as their own – that too is another shadow of competition
Those who display the type of yucky competitive behaviours I am sharing can be from any niche and have any level of success. That part isn’t a hard and fast rule.
What causes them to be like that is:
a) A choice to be harmful
b) Don’t get abundance
c) Have faith in scarcity
d) Want adoring fans beyond service
e) Believe they are superior, have more divine right…
f) Fear failure and deep down believe they have failed although you may never hear them vocalise this even to themselves
g) Don’t believe they are good enough
h) Fear they will get found out as a fraud – again a deep rooted fear – so they better take and grab and always be at the front as it will end soon
i) A total misunderstanding about competition
j) A total misunderstanding about spirituality and energy
k) Faith in illusion and Maya
l) Don’t know who they truly are as it’s all about appearance and superficiality
I am sure this list is a bit of a gulp – I am just telling it how it is.
How can you make competition energy work for you?
Competition is a neutral energy. Rather than being in its shadow, if you look around and see someone doing what you knew you could or what you wished you could, or what you wish you had done or said first, why not use that energy to inspire you to be the best you can? Seek their assistance perhaps, reach out and let them know how much they have inspired you to step forward, or just step forward and play a bigger game.
Not be against the one who is inspiring you, just be on the side of your own good?
If you see someone not doing something you like or not thinking the way you do, no need to make them wrong, why not let that inspire you to get your truth out on a bigger and bolder platform?
Make competition energy about you and not about competing.
Over to you…what do you think?
Do you just think competition is wrong? Or do you think the ‘fear’ of being it is driving people to not claim their potential or value? Does only working with the shadow of competition stop people from truly shining as they have potential for as they fear being knocked down by those who still believe in lack?
Are you ready to use competition energy more compassionately in your life as inspiration?

This is really some awesome information. I think I will have to read it twice over because I know that in my normal life I am unaware of “competition and disassociate from it but however, as a business woman I am forced to think about competition and it just doesn’t sit well with me. I like your approach….I also love this website! Glad I found it! I’ll be back! 🙂
