Pricing and money as a heart centered or non-heart centered business owner is one of the stickiest of subjects.
In fact let’s face it in life, money is one of those things that we love to hate and hate to love for the most part. Wouldn’t you agree?
There is of course a big part of us that wants to and knows that we are here to thrive, yet stepping out to do just that consistently is a whole different story. It is a tide of low self-esteem and self-worth dramas which both come together to create a deep sense of not feeling good enough mixed in with the third spiritual truth for money, self-love, that everyone has to resolve.
When issues and challenges within low self-esteem patterns, or low self-worth patterns and an inability to love self are left unattended it does impact on abundance fully and particularly your money story. Money is after all the energy of love manifest. It stops you living the dream as if you are not in alignment with abundance, how can you live the dream?

The shadow of light which is ever present is not so much an obstruction just an aspect of the light, that requires more light, AKA you attention to resolve. In this case it is about bringing light to the patterns that have a stronghold for whatever reason and are keeping abundance away from you.
The clever bit:
For the majority this does not manifest in a way of, ‘ I am not charging, I am giving 100% away free and going to live in poverty while pretending to be in service’. That type of committed servitude rarely exists these days and nor is it a good idea. It is far too cleverly disguised that that!
Indeed degrees of service and sacrifice exist which is tantamount to denouncing self and life in the pretence that it is worthy and noble. A pretend higher cause!
Yet the clever bit for most is that it is so well masked and covered up that it is difficult to see that the 3 spiritual truths of money are creating a discombobulating money story.
|
You might think, well I am earning some money – it is enough, maybe not quite what I want and desire but it is a step in the right direction. It’ll do, it’s a start. You might believe you don’t want to rock the boat in case you slip further into survival mode. In the true privacy of your thoughts and emotions however you are sad and heavy as you can’t get why you haven’t quite made it or worked it out, as it is a bit tiring, making ends meet with the odd flurry of thriving happening every now and then. But you soldier on, believing this is how it will be until one day when the abundance ship comes to land or that this is simply how it is to be so you martyr yourself while in the illusion of sacrificing thriving for survival. |
You may recognise yourself somewhere in between the description above. If you can identify to any of it, however small, then good, as you are going to be able to address the issues that keep you from having it all easily and effortlessly.
When one or any of the 3 spiritual truths for money abundance are out of alignment you are connected to lack consciousness. Within the lack consciousness is FEAR. You don’t have to be a quivering wreck to be scared to move, to be in fear. Pretending it is not present in your life and/or avoiding it causes more damage because ultimately the fear drives your unconscious.
When this fear is present you do what I call: price to pacify.
Here are clues to whether you price to pacify…and when I mean pacify, it is generally your personality and sometimes your soul you are trying to pacify but never your essence!
- You justify your pricing, it is because…e.g. people aren’t spending etc. etc. etc. – you are pricing in the hope that others will want you not in a way that creates value to you. A strategy that may appear to pay off in the short term in some cases but in truth it never does long term. Think about laws against loss leaders…when you price and justify – you are basically attempting loss leading your own services which sadly ends up being loss mostly. Whenever you justify anything you are coming from lack, not abundance. Abundance doesn’t need justification. Never, ever!
- Even when you have gone for the low introductory price on something that the market wants, you are not getting the sales. Sadly this can mean you are running programmes, launching products and so on that are not giving you a profit or simply ditching ideas that on one level you knew had potential. You’re broadcasting energy of I am not worth it which is a sales repelling energy. It is the ‘buy me but don’t buy me energy’, ‘you can have me but not really’… it is all too confusing energetically and in reality this manifests as confused copy and other marketing. If you don’t know your value how can you communicate it, even when you may pay a copywriter. No-one can gloss over what you are broadcasting.
| I remember a few years ago launching a programme and I thought I would do a super low introductory price as I wasn’t sure I could deliver it and couldn’t truly believe anyone would want it. It was my first ever ‘paid for’ telelclass programme. I did know my list wanted it as they had told me and I had spoken to several people but of course it was me I was not trusting. When push came to shove no-one purchased a place on the p rogramme. When I doubled the price at the next launch it was full! The people who booked in where people who had seen the introductory offer previously.

To pacify is to keep calm and make happy and to make do. A baby is given a pacifier to keep it quiet not to resolve the issue, even though I am sure there are some parents who would argue otherwise.
When you price to pacify you are operating from lack and fear. The issues around low self-worth and self-esteem and a lack of love and trust for self are in the driving seat. When in fear the tendency is to pacify. Do what we can to remove the fear. You would if you had a gun pointing to you and although the energy I am talking about it not a gun, it sure can feel like that and make you act that way. Truth is this shadow energy is an illusion that can be resolved in layers and with conscious and committed action.
Illusionary fear does not need to be pacified. Resolved, YES!
Unless you choose to resolve this, you will continue to price in a way that pacifies. This means on appearance you are ‘selling’ and giving potential customer’s opportunity to ‘purchase’ through your business.
Though in truth you are just going through the motions in the hope of avoiding what you think is an impossible mountain of true abundance. If you keep the appearance through pacified pricing then no-one will notice that you have abundance and money issues. Well no-one apart from you and you are good at keeping secrets, right?
Pricing to pacify: exposed.
It is going to be pretty clear to most that they fall into this category and for others the denial will continue.
If you want to know how you can assess whether you price to pacify follow the steps below. Be warned however, to resolve it is not as simple as raising prices as that can still be price to pacify. Another ‘quick fix’ to pacify which lacks the foundational work for real resolve.
The truth is you mustn’t avoid looking at your relationship with money.
You can pretend you need to learn more e.g. to speak from stage, sell more, launch products, etc. While the technical part of business is incredibly relevant and helpful you are in this case avoiding the truth and significance.
Deal with your money story; get to raise its vibration so you can get more money in the bank. Remember you can talk to me about having money breakthroughs and working on your money relationships. It is what I have been doing for thousands of people around the planet. Click here to book a time to speak.
How to know if you have a pricing to pacify challenge to resolve:
- Think of a product or service you have recently launched.
- Write down why you priced it that way.
- Now imagine you are being asked to double its price, what are your objections?
- What were you desired sales for this service/product launch and what are your actual?
- Taking into account administration, delivery, preparation and marketing etc. what is your hourly cost per sale for this service/product? How does that make you feel?
Now you have done this share your insights and ‘ahas’ around this important topic in the comments below.
Remember while awareness is key, knowing what to do next is important and if you want to understand how to price for abundance and thrive, then do set up a time to talk as avoiding doing anything about your money story is simply going to keep you trapped where you are. Time to end the cycle of pricing to pacify, don’t you think?

This is very timely advice, Sarupa.
Last month I tried an experiment with my best-selling (highest-selling, rather than “best-seller”) eBook: for a month I dropped the price to 99 cents US, from its original $4.50.
I promoted it heavily throughout the month. And I sold one copy, on the last day.
June 1st, I trashed all references to the discounted offer and re-promoted the book at its normal price of $4.50. Within the first week of June it was back up to its normal sales rate of about one per day.
I think that rather proves your points!
Under-pricing, or pricing to pacify, is a very hard act to recover from.
Thanks for putting it so expressively.
Hi Sarupa,
wow, you shared such great insights in regards to abundance and pricing!
There is so much wisdom in your words and it all makes sense to me.
For a few years I have been aware of what you are writing about and you have just taken it to another level of understanding.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could improve our self worth programming quickly!
Since I spent most of my life ‘living on a shoestring’ I thought I wanted to make things available in so people could afford it. I now realize that it was just one of my ‘pacifiers’.
Thank you so much for this awesome post.

Yorinda
Yorinda, I do believe we can change our self-worth patterns in an instance. It is a choice – and that is what so many people forget – yes we can and often do need help and support to really align and accept abundance as a truth in our life but as abundance is unlimited and expanding it can start immediately with changing our thoughts – just believe it and try it…it changes everything 😉 Thanks for stopping by and commenting x
Sarupa,
Your insights into money, energy, self-worth and self-esteem are SCARY cause they’re so “right on”. In order for people to be helped financially, they do NOT need to talk to a financial counselor. They need talk to you! You know what it’s about. You know what’s going on! You know that it’s a reflection of what you are feeling, a reflection of one’s subconscious programming that is manifesting on the conscious and tangible level!
Thanks so much for sharing!
I sincerely hope that this article generates lots of high-paying clients for you, because what you are offering cannot be found anywhere else!!!!
May God Bless You!

Hi Jupiter Jim – thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment – your words really touched me – and yes everything other starts with energy first. Always! x
Hi Sarupa,
I loved the image for this post! Which is brilliant by the way.
Pricing is something that constantly needing tweaking and testing and cannot remain static, as the marketplace for the product is constantly changing and adapting.
I love the questions at the end, I think they have changed my life 😉
Love the questions at the end, Sarupa. You’re quite right – if things are too cheap people perceive or worry there’s no value there and shy away.
Your points resonate with me. One time, my colleague and I were fiercely debating how to price a challenging project for a client. In the end, I suggested he come up with a price tag. It was a third more than I would have charged, gulp! We went with it… the client bought and was very happy. And I learned an important lesson about value pricing and not underselling oneself.
Hi Sarupa,
This post is so right on! Valentines Day was the turning point for me.. Yikes I worked for months setting up a training site and then promoting my business at rock bottom prices and when it flopped, I was almost ready to through in the towel..
But I am not a quitter.. Then after a few months of soul searching I have learned that I did not have a money story as you say…
I am so very Grateful for my taking this time to find ME and now I have my money story to Thank for it.. I just love stopping by, I always leave feeling so confident. You have such a great way with words. Thanks for sharing Chery 🙂
Great article! Pricing any product is notoriously difficult, it’s all about getting an attractive price which matches the actual value. A cheaper price can sometimes not be seen as a “bargain” instead causing clients to think that the product itself is of too low value.
Hi Sarupa,
Interesting … I have heard that your relationship with money has a lot to do with self-esteem and how you were raised – what you learned from your parents. It makes total sense too that if you don’t think anything will happen, nothing will. So, how you think, what you think, and the action you take will influence your income.
Hi Sharupa. I enjoyed this article very much. Money is a very volatile subject. The Bible tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. When people get obsessed with it, it doesn’t matter how much they make. It’s never enough, and for many it becomes a way of wielding a club of power. The money has become meaningless except as something to manipulate people and circumstances. They also feel that because they have money, they are above the law – both of God and man.
I see money as the means to an end, It allows me the freedom to do and give as I want. Also, when you price yourself too low, you won’t attract the kinds of people that you want in your business. If you think you are not worthy, other people will think the same.
I love the way you say that we have to deal with our money story. As a member of the Baby Boomer generation, I’m really sorry we gave money such a bad name. Money is just a means to an end, and there is nothing inherently bad about it. Thanks for this thought-provoking post.
